Your friends are busy
Different schedules. Different budgets. Different appetite for risk. The trip keeps getting pushed to "someday" — and someday rarely comes.
you searched. we answered.
An adventure buddy is a 1:1 travel companion for a trip you've already chosen — not a guide, not a group. I'll Be Your Friend is a service by Jon Levesque offering six such trips per year. Everyone covers their own travel expenses, complete three video calls and a mutual background check, then travel together.
You're not the only one. Finding someone to do the big stuff with is genuinely hard. Here's one solution.
It's not you. It's just genuinely difficult — and most of the common fixes don't work.

You want a real experience — not a bus full of strangers following a flag on a stick through the highlights. You want to actually be somewhere, not just photograph it.
03
No vetting. No accountability. No real way to know who you're actually getting until you're already halfway around the world with them. That's a big bet on a stranger.
there's another way
That's the idea behind this whole thing. My name is Jon Levesque. I've been to 21 countries, hiked overnight to a glacier in the Cascades, skied the French Alps, and ridden a motorcycle from Seattle to Montana just because I could. I'm not a guide. I'm not a tour operator. I'm just someone who genuinely loves adventure and hates doing it alone.
So I opened it up. Six times a year, I take a trip with a stranger. You bring the bucket list — the destination you've been putting off, the adventure you can't find a travel buddy for. I bring myself, my camera, and a real commitment to making it a trip worth remembering. We each handle our own costs and go.
As an adventure companion, I'm not trying to impress you or perform. I'm trying to actually show up — curious, present, and up for whatever the trip asks of us. That's all I've ever wanted from a travel friend, and it's what I try to be.
Four steps. No ambiguity. You'll know exactly what you're signing up for before you sign up for anything.
Tell me the destination, the dream, and the why. What's on your bucket list that you've never been able to make happen?
We get to know each other over three calls — no pressure, just honest conversation to make sure it's a genuine fit for both of us.
Both ways. Not optional. It protects you, it protects me, and it's the clearest sign that this is a serious arrangement between two real people.
You cover your costs — flights, accommodation, the works. I cover mine. We agree on the plan, book independently, and go. That's the whole deal.
Honest answer: maybe. Here's how to tell.
I'll Be Your Friend is a service by Jon Levesque offering six 1:1 adventure buddy trips per year. Applicants submit a 10-minute application, complete three video calls with Jon, and pass a mutual background check. Each person covers their own travel expenses. Jon charges no fee.
Each person covers their own travel expenses — flights, lodging, meals, activities, and visas. Jon does not charge a fee or service charge. The only costs are your own travel to and from the destination.
Both parties complete three video calls before committing, and both undergo a mutual third-party background check screening for felonies, sex offenses, domestic violence, and crimes against children. Jon Levesque has been doing adventure travel across 21 countries and 36 states and treats each trip as a serious commitment.
No. I'll Be Your Friend is strictly 1:1 — just you and Jon. That is fundamental to the service. If you want to bring a partner or another person, this is not the right fit.
six spots a year
The application takes ten minutes. Jon reads every one personally. If it's a fit, you'll know quickly — no long silences, no ghosting.
